Behind the Camera

December 4th, 2006

Regular visitors to Saileski.com will have noticed within the gallery that Jane Austin has been adding some fantastic on and off the water photo’s from her own collection. Saileski.com would like to thank Jane for her support of http://www.saileski.com/ and the Hobart sailing scene.

Jane Austin is a freelance writer & photographer with a passion for yachting photography. Her work has been published in Offshore Yachting, Outdoor Australia, Tassie Yachtsman and Multihull Power & Sail.

Most recently, her picture of 2006 Hydro Tasmania Three Peaks Race winner Marshall Engineering made the front cover of America’s number one multihull magazine, Multihulls Magazine.

Jane has recently covered the Volvo ‘Round the World Ocean Race Melbourne Stopover In-port Race, the Farr 40 Nationals and Inner Circle Rum Regatta, and the 2006 Three Peaks Race.

Jane is a regular contributor to the RYCT magazine, Tassie Yachtsman and is part of the Three Peaks Media Team. She is the official photographer for the Boags Sailing South Regatta again in 2006, will have an official role taking crew photos in Hobart of Melbourne to Hobart teams, and will cover the Laser and B14 Nationals in January.

Jane is keen to raise the profile of yachting in Hobart, especially the Farr 40s as her partner Steve sails with Hughie Lewis on Eurocentral.

Jane is available for corporate and private yachting assignments. Keep an eye on the gallery for more snaps of races on the Derwent.

Jane can be contacted on 0409 458 125 or janeaustin@tassie.net.au or visit her website http://www.janeaustinphotography.com.au/ (Coming soon!!)
